4th Prince of Wale’s Gurkha Rifles. Serving through both World War I and II the battalions of the 4th Gurkha fought in most theatres. In WWI the 1st Battalion fought at Givenchy, Neuve Chapelle and Ypres whilst the 2nd Battalion fought in Mesopotamia. In WWII they served in Middle East, North Africa, Italy and the Far east. During the campaign in Burma the 1st Battalion suffered nearly 100% casualties.
